Meeting of Advisers of Marist Apostolic Groups

13/05/2011: Mexico

On April 2nd, 60 advisers of Marist Apostolic Groups met together at the Quinta San Jose meeting house, located in Salto, Jalisco. Three group levels were represented: MARCHA, MAS AND GAMA, along with representatives from the Marist Universities of Guadalajara and Merida. The organization was tasked the Provincial Commission for the Apostolate to Marist Youth (Province of Mexico Occidental) coordinated by Brother Jorge Mejia.

The central theme of the meeting was to understand, deepen and live the experiential method, with the goal of each one of our groups having the same experience. Thus, we lived three experiences based on the method:  The first consisted of freeing ourselves of those things which blocked us from being fully engaged in the meeting; the second living it in a straight forward manner by facing the violence present in our country; third, analyzing the planned experiences as well as planning an experience modeled on the model itself. We also had two key moments which allowed us to identify the steps of the experiential method which we have lived. We had a meeting filled with much interchange and feedback. We shared our worries, doubts, individual experiences, difficulties and successes, etc. With all the activity which we face on a daily basis, this moment of reflection was useful to us as we set out on our well trodden path continuing on the road in order to spend our lives among children and youth.
