Discussion on ‘Identity and Mission of the Religious Brother in the Church’

Vatican Radio interviews superior general on new Vatican document

17/12/2015: Vatican

Vatican Radio interviewed superior general Brother Emili Turú on the new document recently released by the Vatican that defines the religious brother in writing for the first time in Church history.

Stefano Leszczynski, of the radio’s Italian department, interviewed Br Emili alongside Archbishop José Rodríguez Carballo, secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life on Dec. 17.

The document, according to Br Emili, exaggerates in a positive way the fraternity aspect of the Brother’s identity, adding that this is important and of “enormous relevance” in today’s intercultural communities.
