Michael Christopher Greeff

Mike Greeff is the Director of the Marist Schools Council in South Africa and, in this capacity, he represents the interests of the Marist Brothers in all matters pertaining to the five Marist schools and other bodies that Marist in South Africa interacts with. Mike was educated at Parktown Boys’ High School in Johannesburg before completing his B.Comm (Hons) degrees at UNISA and then his MBA at Wits Business School. He completed his teaching qualification, the PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) with distinction after joining the Marist world.

Following a successful corporate career in banking and then as the Managing Partner of his own consulting company, Mike joined St David’s Marist Inanda in 2006. At St David’s he was the Chief Executive for nine years before assuming his current Director of the Marist Schools Council role in early 2015. Recently, Mike has been invited to be a member of the Marist General Mission Committee, part of the Marist General Administration in Rome.

Mike has a specific interest in strategy and leadership and is regularly approached to address or assist organisations and groups in these two areas.

Marist has brought a perspective to Mike’s life that he believes enables him to work with his head and his heart. Mission, Community and Spirituality add the completeness that a corporate career cannot always provide.

He is a committed Catholic, married to Fiona for 33 years and a proud father and grandfather. He enjoys sport and is a keen runner; also, passionate about his country, South Africa.

This XXII General Chapter is a time to harness our heritage from the past and to embrace the calls that lie ahead for our Mission; to revitalise ourselves.
