Joachim  Okoye-Ezetulugo

I am Br. Joachim Okoye-Ezetulugo, born on 29August 1944 into the family of late Mr. and Mrs.  Benedict and Theresa Okoye-Ezetulugo of Alor in Anambra State, Nigeria.

I had my Primary Education at St. Mary’s Primary School, Alor from 1955 to 1963. Secondary Education at College of Immaculate Conception (CIC), Enugu, 1971 – 1973.

I joined the Marist Brothers’ Postulancy in 1966, Novitiate in 1967 all at Uturu. I made my First Religious Profession on 9 January 1968 at Uturu, Final Profession on 9 January 1973, Uturu.

Furthermore, I did a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French Language, 1977. Masters of Arts Degree in French, and Post Graduate Diploma in Education, 1981 to 1982. In addition, I studied another Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology, 2005 – 2007.

I  worked at Bishop Shanahan College, (BSC) Orlu, 1981 – 1982, Director, Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Uturu from 1982 -1998, Principal, Marist Comprehensive Academy, Uturu 1998-1999 among others. Also, I served as the Dean of Studies/Vice Principal Academic, Marist International University College (MIUC) Nairobi, Kenya from 2000 – 2011. Currently, I am serving as the Provincial, Marist Brothers, Province of Nigeria, 2011 – 2018. My hobbies include reading, jogging and singing.

The XXII General Chapter is a wonderful blessing to the Church and the world. The message of the Chapter will bring us closer to God and to one another. Long live Marist Brothers of the Schools.
